Sito Alonso became the new head coach of UCAM Murcia with a deal for the remainder of the season, the club announced.
He coached Cedevita Zagreb at the start of the season but parted ways with the club after being 2-2 in EuroCup and 1-3 in ABA League.
Alonso has a lot of experience in the Spanish League and EuroLeague experience as well as he coached Joventut, Baskonia and Barcelona in the elite competition. His overall EuroLeague record is 28-36 and the farthest he went was with Baskonia to the quarterfinals.
Murcia secured the BCL playoffs as the first-placed in Group A with an 11-1 record but are second from the bottom in Spanish League with 5-13.
