Murcia dominated after the 11-11 first quarter to beat Ludwigsburg 73-47 at the Palacio de los Deportes. The result in the Basketball Champions League Regular Season Round 13 match was of no concern for both teams, because the hosts have secured Group A’ top spot and the Germans have been already eliminated.
A 22-2 run finished in the beginning of the second half blew the game open. Emanuel Cate led the way with a 16-point, 10-rebound double-double. Milton Doyle scored 13 points, Ovie Soko and Askia Booker had 12 each.
Alberto Miranda led his team to 12-1 and its sixth consecutive win, before passing the head coaching torch to Sito Alonso.
John Patrick’s club fell to 3-10 with its second straight loss. Marcos Knight put up a team-high 12 points, Owen Klassen followed with ten of his own.
