The do-or-die match at the Holon Toto Arena sent Nanterre to the Basketball Champions League playoffs. The French side scored a 74-62 win against UNET Holon to secure a spot in the February 8th draw ahead of the Round of 16 stage. The visitors jumped to a 19-7 start and held on the rest of the way.
Haukur Palsson had all the answers in the second half en route for his 12-point performance. Lahaou Konate also posted 12 points, Dominic Waters added 14 and Julian Gamble finished with a game-high 15 points. Corey Walden notched 16 points and T.J. Cline scored 13 for the Israelis.
It was a crucial game, but the visitors handled the added pressure. Pascal Donnadieu’s side not only improved to 8-6 and clinched a playoffs spot, but finished third in Group B. Dan Shamir’s club dropped to 7-7 and was eliminated.
