The Italian crowd put on an electrifying atmosphere as Segafredo Virtus Bologna grabbed a 73-58 home win over Nanterre overcoming the eight-point deficit from Game 1 (83-75) and advancing to Basketball Champions League Final Four with a 148-141 aggregate score.
Amath M’Baye led Bologna with 16 points while Dejan Kravic scored 12 on perfect 5-5 shooting and Kevin Punter added nine points.
For Nanterre, Haukur Palsson nailed 18 points in addition to Jeremy Senglin’s 11 and Adas Juskevicius’ ten points.
Bologna had a fickle first quarter but was ahead (17-12) thanks to Punter’s seven points. However, they opened the second period with a 12-2 run which put them in a good position and they went on the break with a 41-29 lead.
The Italians continued after the break leading by as much as 20 points (49-29). Nanterre managed to cut the gap (63-53) and made it a one-possession game in the aggregate score a few times but Bologna put on great defense and held on securing a Final Four ticket.
