ANTWERP — Brose Bamberg‘s maiden Basketball Champions League journey didn’t have the finale the fans of the team dreamed of.
Bamberg fell to Virtus Bologna in the first semifinal after a horrid offensive performance that resulted to a scoring season-low of 50 points.
“We just couldn’t make any shots,” Bamberg guard Bryce Taylor told Eurohoops. “We never found our rhythm as a team offensively. It was tough. It was a very poor performance on our part. We are disappointed for everybody.”
Brose Bamberg lost way too many easy shots, even lay-ups. They also failed to translate their wide open looks frm range into buckets.
Taylor himself had 0/4 3-pointers.
“I think we were nervous at first. That’s normal. But ultimately, we were just not able to make shots,” the visibly upset Taylor commented.
Taylor also congratulated Bologna for putting on a tough defensive performance en route to getting the ticket to the Final.
We have to give credit to Virtus Bologna. They had a very solid game and they did what they had to do to win.
