ANTWERP– After the end of the Basketball Champions League Final, Virtus Bologna captain Pietro Aradori found out that among the pile of messages of congratulations and bravos that had been pouring into his phone, there was one sms by a highly important figure of Bologna and Italian basketball.
Two-time EuroLeague champion with Virtus Bologna Ettore Messina wanted to congratulate Aradori for the accomplishment. The club’s return to continental titles after 10 years and the 2009 Eurochallenge.
“Compliments Pietro. It’s amazing to win with Virtus. Big hug,” was the message sent by Messina to Aradori.
“He’s a legend. A LEGEND,” Aradori enthusiastically told Eurohoops. Well, he actually shouted.
“Ettore is just an amazing person and coach,” he added.
