The team lineup for the upcoming 2019-20 Basketball Champions League campaign was announced today (21/6). League CEO Patrick Comninos shared a few words noting that the competition has been a great success so far and that it’s getting stronger, both on and off the court:
“The first three seasons of the competition were an outstanding success and the strength of this year’s field suggests that it will get even tougher on the court and even more fascinating for hundreds of thousands of fans across Europe who follow at arenas, through great TV coverage and via social media”, he said.
The list of 24 clubs directly qualified for the 2019-20 BCL regular season features 23 clubs which played in their national playoffs and 18 of them finished in the top five.
Also, if the BCL qualifiers are included, there will be 48 clubs in total which arrive from 28 different countries and 16 of them are national champions. The overall winner will win one million euros in prize money.
