Paulius Sorokas inked a one-year deal with Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari, the Italian Basketball Champions League participant announced in a press release on Wednesday. The 27-year-old Lithuanian has been with Sassari during the training camp on a tryout basis.
After launching his career with Zalgiris Kaunas’ youth team and playing for various Lithuanian sides up to 2014, Sorokas competed in Italy’s second division in the 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons. Last summer he moved to Belgium for Proximus Spirou Charleroi and is now set for both his BCL and LBA Serie A debut.
He marked his EuroMillions Basketball League run with 7.5 points and 5.1 rebounds per appearance in the regular season, added 2.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per match through a couple of playoffs contests. Also saw limited action in the 2018-19 edition of the FIBA Europe Cup with the Belgian club.
