Deividas Gailius put on an all-around performance and gave Neptunas Klaipeda an 81-71 home win over Happy Casa Brindisi in Basketball Champions League Group D.
Gailius logged 23 points, seven assists and seven rebounds for the victors while Zygimantas Janavicius added 13 in addition to Simas Galdikas and Matas Jogela ten points each.
For Brindisi, Adrian Banks scored 11 points followed by Darius Thompson and Luca Campogrande’s ten each.
Brindisi had a slight 26-24 advantage after ten minutes but thanks to Gailius’ 11 and Galdikas’ eight points along with a 2-3 matchup zone in defense, Neptunas held the 43-36 lead at halftime.
They stayed ahead in the third quarter (62-54) and although the guests made it a one-possession game (73-71) with a bit over two minutes left, Neptunas answered with eight straight points to seal the win.
