Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem survived Teksut Bandirma’s late comeback and logged a 73-69 road win in Basketball Champions League Group B.
J’Covan Brown led the way with 19 points on 6-8 shooting (4-5 triples) while TaShawn Thomas added 16 and Suleiman Braimoh 15 points. Thomas also grabbed nine boards.
For Bandirma, Omar Prewitt scored 19 followed by Sehmus Hazer with 17 and Jaime Smith with 12 points.
After a balanced first quarter (19-19), Hapoel was slightly ahead at halftime (33-30). They improved the lead to 11 points in the third quarter (60-49) and although Bandirma decreased the deficit to just four points (64-60), Hapoel didn’t allow them to go any further. The guests held on until the end, for the narrow win.
