AEK Athens started the new Basketball Champions League season successfully by beating Pau-Lacq-Orthez and Chairman Makis Aggelopoulos shared his thoughts about his team’s goals, as well as his thoughts about an end to the European basketball conflict.
“AEK remains committed to the goal. Far from verbalism, which is neither in line with its values nor with my own beliefs. Winning titles remains a top priority, but always with ideals and fair play in mind”, he comments. “AEK will continue to uphold the ideals of fair competition and will claim the status quo in the best possible way to stay on top. Only that for this to happen we need support. Our fans remain firmly the key ally in this great journey”.
“So, regularity – for which AEK is making a silent effort – is ahead. I want to believe that this year is the beginning of the end of European basketball conflict and that the sport will regain its glory, for all those who continue through adversity to support and serve it, and for those who have been tested through tough times”, added Angelopoulos.
