Dinamo Sassari made a comeback but Turk Telekom stopped it and grabbed a win in front of the home crowd

Dinamo Sassari made a comeback in the second half but Turk Telekom managed to stop their momentum and get a 64-56 home win on Day 2 of Basketball Champions League.

Turk Telekom won both of their games so far (2-0) while Sassari now holds a 1-1 record in Group A.

R.J. Hunter scored 14 points for the victors – 12 in the first half – while Kyle Wiltjer and T.J. Campbell added 12 points each. Wiltjer also grabbed ten boards.

For Sassari, Dwayne Evans banked 18 points and nine boards while Dyshawn Pierre helped with 13 points and eight boards.

Turk Telekom squad had a strong start led by Hunter and were ahead 21-13 after ten minutes as well as 38-26 at halftime.

Sassari made a comeback after the break – primarily thanks to great offensive rebounding (19 compared to 9) – and had a 51-49 lead in the fourth quarter but the hosts answered with 11 straight points (60-51) which decided the victor.
