Shawn Jones inked a deal with Anwil Wloclawek for the remainder of the 2019-20 season, the Polish team announced on Friday. He previously signed with Boulazac, but left the Jeep Elite Pro A club before appearing in a single game.
The 27-year-old American-born Kosovan big will make his Basketball Champions League comeback with the Anwil. He played 13 BCL games with Dinamo Sassari in the 2017-18 season and 13 with UNET Holon last year before concluding his European club competition campaigns via FIBA Europe Cup with both teams. Also carries the experience of 18 7DAYS EuroCup matches with Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem back in the 2016-17 season.
On his 2018-19 run, Jones averaged 7.8 points and 5.1 rebounds per Champions League contest, went on to post 9.5 points and 3.3 rebounds per Europe Cup game. In Israel’s Super League, he had 10.2 points and 6.5 rebounds per match.
Apart Sassari, Hapoel Holon and Hapoel Jerusalem, his European experience includes an ACB tenure with MoraBanc Andorra. He also competed in LBA Serie A on loan assignment to Sidigas Avellino in the bottom end of the 2016-17 campaign before signing with Sassari for the following season.
