Down 0-4 in Basketball Champions League’s Group A, Lietkabelis went on a winning streak Nenad Canak’s side extended on Tuesday with a comeback victory, 78-72, against UNET Holon.
A slow start accompanied by a ten-point deficit in the second quarter, did not stop the Lithuanian club at the Cido Arena. Zeljko Sakic upped his game in the second half and sank four clutch free throws for an 22-point, 10-rebound double-double. Tomas Dimsa put up 16 points.
Marcus Foster scored a game-high 22 points, but Sharon Drucker’s team fell to 3-4 with the loss at Panevezys. Richard Howell followed with 15 points to go along with 13 boards.
The Israeli team completed the addition Angel Delgado prior to the match, but the Dominican center was not available for the Regular Season Gameday 7 affair.
