Despite some ups and downs, San Pablo Burgos got the 65-60 road win against Telenet Giants Antwerp in Basketball Champions League. Burgos improved to 5-3 compared to Antwerp’s 2-6 record.
Jasiel Rivero led the way with 15 points while Thaddus McFadden added 11 and Earl Clark seven points.
For Antwerp, Hans Vanwijn scored game-high 19 in addition to Owen Klassen’s 15 and Luka Rupnik’s 11 points. Klassen also grabbed 12 boards.
Burgos was ahead 14-9 after the tough first quarter and stayed in front by halftime (28-22). Antwerp turned it around taking the lead in the third quarter (42-41) but it was short-lived as Burgos made a 12-point lead in the fourth quarter (58-46).
Antwerp made a final push cutting the gap to just two points (60-58) but the Spaniards held on and will go home with a win.
