ERA Nymburk had everything under control in a 75-56 home win against VEF Riga in Basketball Champions League.
Nymburk won eight straight games in all competitions, improved to 8-2 in BCL Group C and will temporarily take the first place while Riga stayed at the bottom with just one win and they are now officially out of the playoff contention.
Zach Hankins scored 14 points for the victors while Vojtech Hruban followed with 11 points. Jaromir Bohacik put on an all-around performance with nine points, eight assists, and seven boards.
For Riga, Kristijan Krajina scored 12 while Roberts Stumbris helped with 11 points.
Nymburk was up 21-15 after ten minutes but they quickly expanded the lead and went to the halftime rest with a 44-28 advantage.
They led by as much as 22 points (50-28) after the break and although Riga made a remarkable comeback cutting the gap to just six points (58-52), Nymburk got right back up and logged a convincing win.
