Advancing to the Basketball Champions League playoffs came closer to becoming a reality for Casademont Zaragoza with the 77-70 victory opposite to Falco Szombathely in Hungary. The hosts were previously untouched at the Savaria Arena with four wins in as many games.

The Regular Season Gameday 10 tilt saw the Spanish club impose its will in the paint. Additionally, Nicolas Brussino pouring 19 points including a couple of late daggers and D.J. Seeley following with 18 points to his name proved extremely helpful at Szombathely.

Aside giving up their undefeated home record, the Hungarian champions went on the wrong side of the tiebreaker with their second loss to Zaragoza. Marko Filipovity banking a team-high 15 points was not enough on Wednesday.

Group D remains wide open, but Porfirio Fisac’s side upping its W-L tally to 6-4 can go a long way in the quest for a Round of 16 berth. Gasper Okorn’s team was coming off three straight BCL wins, but is now 5-5.
