Greek Basketball Federation president Giorgos Vassilakopoulos sent a letter to FIBA Secretary General Andreas Zagklis regarding the EuroLeague game of Panathinaikos Athens against Real Madrid overlapping with the match of the Greek national team vs. Bosnia Herzegovina for Gameday 2 of the 2021 EuroBasket Qualifiers.
Both games are held Monday (24/2). Greece – Bosnia Herzegovina starts at 20:00 CET and Real Madrid – Panathinaikos at 21:00 CET.
The letter was published on the official website of the Greek Basketball Federation in greek. as follows:
“Some warm congratulations are in order for the organization of World Basketball since on the same day that Greece plays a qualification game against Bosnia Herzegovina, the Real Madrid – Panathinaikos game takes place. I’m emphasizing this: on the same day and at the same time and don’t tell me that you don’t have a responsibility. This is where the World Basketball has come to. But this will be discussed with the institutions in charge.”
