The Spanish Basketball Federation, FEB, announced Monday that current president Jorge Garbajosa is officially the only candidate and will retain his position after the General Assembly scheduled for September 21. His second term will last until 2024.
According to the necessary procedure, Garbajosa temporarily resigned and first vice president Jose Miguel Sierra assumed the role of the interim president for the next two weeks leading into the General Assembly.
Garbajosa was appointed president of Spain’s governing body of basketball in 2016, four years after he opted to end his successful playing career.
