Hosting the event in Riga, the Latvian national team is eager to find success at home, historically reaching the Olympic Games for the first time in the nation’s history.

Therefore, for such a unique and special occasion, all the big names are ready to participate: Kristaps Porzingis, the Bertans and Kurucs brothers, Rolands Smits, Arturs Strautins, Janis Strelnieks, and Arturs Zagars are all present in Latvia’s preliminary 24-man roster.

Here you can find the complete list of players – with Janis Timma, Rihards Lomazs, and Andrejs Grazulis as well, for example – Luca Banchi called up for the Latvian national team’s preliminary extended roster.

In its first-ever FIBA World Cup, Latvia finished in 5th position after missing the shot to win in the Quarter-Finals against then-champions Germany. The Baltic nation will host some EuroBasket 2025 games as well.
