Basketball is all about emotions, and what better way to capture them than thanks to photography? That’s why the FIBA Foundation is pleased to launch the 8th edition of the FIBA Photo Contest, with the goal of capturing the emotions conveyed by basketball.
Until December 21st, World Basketball Day, it’s possible to submit photos through this link, with the “theme chosen for this year, “Emotions” that allows all basketball lovers to share the wide range of emotions that the game can ignite in each of us”, as the official statement says.
“From the court to the stands, basketball has the power to stir emotions like no other sport, whether it’s joy, excitement, relief, disappointment, or despair. The FIBA Foundation is looking forward to seeing the translation of these feelings into powerful imagery. The FIBA Photo Contest is a unique opportunity for all photographers, professionals or amateurs to show their talents and love for the game”, it continues.
One of the biggest basketball-related photo contests over the past seven editions, the FIBA Photo Contest has involved “hundreds of participants from all regions of the globe”. As FIBA announced, “The top three winners will be chosen by a jury composed of professional photographers and basketball personalities”.
Finally, “They will be awarded valuable photographic equipment, and the opportunity to be the official photographer of the 2025 FIBA Open. Once the contest is over, the top 100 photos will be published in the annual FIBA Photo Book”, the official press release concludes.
