The FIBA Europe Cup final is set as Italian club Varese will face the Germans of Fraport Skyliners in Sunday’s battle for the trophy.
OpenjobMetis Varese held the Final Four hosts Elan Chalon of France to 29 points in the second half and the storied Italian club claimed a 91-82 triumph in the first semi-final of the FIBA Europe Cup to earn a shot at its first international trophy since 1980.
Fraport Skyliners after a close game prevailed by three points (59-56) over BC Enisey from Russia. Johannes Voigtmann with 16 points was the top scorer of the winners. Fraport had secured the win in the closing seconds and David Kennedy with a three at the buzzer helped Enisey get closer.
