Reak Madrid’s 17-year-old center Usman Garuba posted a double-double consisting of 18 points and 19 rebounds for 38 PIR to lead Spain to a 70 – 54 win over Greece in the second semifinal game of the U18 European Championship.
Garuba also posted three blocks, three assists, and three steals. He and his teammates forced their opponents to score just 18 points in the second half en route to getting the victory.
Santiago Aldama scored a game-high 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds from Spain. Nikos Rogavopoulos (13 points) was the only player from Greece to score in double figures.
Spain will face Turkey in the title game. The Turkish national team defeated Slovenia 72 – 64 behind 15 points and eight rebounds by Alperen Sengun plus 15 points by Goktug Bas.
Gregor Glas had 20 points, five rebounds and four assists for Slovenia.
