FIBA is continuing its effort to improve basketball popularity all over the World and their partnership with Atrium Sports will work on FIBA Connected Stadium which will improve the production and distribution of live streams.
Per FIBA:
FIBA, the world governing body of basketball, and Atrium Sports, today announced a landmark partnership and shared vision to deliver the FIBA Connected Stadium to help make basketball the most popular, innovative and digitally advanced sports community in the world.
With new technologies transforming the way sporting content is captured and used, FIBA recognizes the need to innovate and plan the future of basketball, helping national federations and grassroots basketball grow and develop in a digitally connected world.
Charged by FIBA with offering national federations and leagues technology and advice, Atrium Sports is helping remove the barriers by implementing artificial intelligence and machine learning based automated solutions to capture, enhance, produce and distribute live video content.
Thanks to this partnership, National Federations and Leagues will now have access to market leading Keemotion technology to help live stream games, enhance the fan experience with graphic overlays and commentary, attract new audiences, better utilize their content and therefore maximize their value to their members.
FIBA Secretary General Andreas Zagklis said, “We are very pleased to be entering into this partnership with Atrium Sports. FIBA Connected Stadiums will offer our members access to the technology and expertise to automatically capture and live stream games. This partnership will help us plan, develop and promote basketball into the next decade and guide our National Federations through an increasingly complex technology landscape. The benefits will surely be felt throughout the sport.”
Nick Maywald, Atrium Sports Executive Chairman added, “FIBA’s history of innovation and embracing new technologies is the envy of many sports. The FIBA Connected Stadium is a game-changing initiative and we are honored to be trusted as FIBA’s partner.”
Ben Turner, Atrium Sports Chief Executive Officer said, “Basketball is one of the fastest growing sports globally, thanks to FIBA leading the way in embracing new technology. The FIBA Connected Stadium will enable National Federations and Leagues to access the highest quality technology empowering them to grow the sport locally as FIBA has globally.”
FIBA Federations and Leagues from around the world are already in discussions with Atrium Sports to implement the FIBA Connected Stadium. They will soon join federations worldwide who are already experiencing the benefits.
