Casademont Zaragoza announced that the team has added Deon Thompson to the roster for the remainder of the season
Last season, Thompson averaged 8.4 points and 3.4 rebounds over 36 Spanish League games with Unicaja Malaga.
“With the incorporation of Deon Thompson we intend to gain consistency and solidity, since he is a player who knows the Endesa League and who has a lot of experience after competing in great teams and at the highest level,” coach Jaume Ponsarnau said.
“That is why we believe that his arrival can help us to be more competitive. We think he can make a good pair with Hlinason as they are complementary players: Tryggvi’s is deeper and Thompson’s can give us a new record when it comes to direct blocking, where we are getting little benefit. This, together with his ability to open the field, can also help other players find better situations, such as cuts or penetrations. In addition, he is a player who dominates the game from behind, which can help us to consolidate our low post.”
