Uros Trifunovic is a late signing for Tofas on the way to the FIBA Europe Cup and the Turkiye Sigorta Basketbol Super Ligi.
The 23-year-old Serbian forward inked a one-year contract, the team announced on Saturday.
Among multiple departures from Partizan this summer, Trifunovic carries the experience of 54 games played in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and 36 in the 7DAYS EuroCup to the Bursa outfit. In addition, he represented Serbia in the Qualifiers of the 2022 EuroBasket and 2023 FIBA World Cup.
The Belgrade native signed with Partizan to launch his professional career in 2018. Following loan assignments at Mladost Zemun and Mega Bemax, he emerged as a regular for Partizan. The stint generated an AdmiralBet ABA League championship in 2023. He also contributed to Radivoj Korac Cup titles in 2019 and 2020.
Last season, he averaged 2.8 points and 1.5 rebounds per EuroLeague contest and put up 5.9 points and 2.7 rebounds per ABA game.
Tofas releases John Jenkins
Meanwhile, former NBA player John Jenkins parted ways with Tofas due to personal reasons, the team based in Bursa noted in a separate press release on Saturday. A few weeks after officially announcing his arrival, Tofas reached an agreement with the 33-year-old American guard on the early termination of their contract.
Therefore, Trifunovic joined Kris Bankston, Ozgur Cengiz, Berk Demir, Demircan Demir, Tolga Gecim, J.J. O’Brien, Marcquise Reed, Alex Perez, Yigitcan Saybir, and Trevor Thompson on the team coached by Orhun Ene.
