One of Europe’s most unique point guards of the 90s finally got a European title as a head coach. Gianmarco Pozzecco, a member of the Italian national team which won the silver medal in 2004 Olympics, led Dinamo Sassari to the 81-79 road win against Wurzburg in the second led of the FIBA Europe Cup finals.
The Italian had won the first leg by five and proved to be the better team by finishing the job in the fourth quarter. Dyshawn Pierre finished with 19 points, Jaime Smith had 15 points and 5 rebounds, while Rashawn Thomas collected 14 points. Skyler Bowlin hit six triples for a game-high 20 points for Wurzburg, while Cameron Wells double-doubled with 18 points and 10assists.
