Lenovo Tenerife aims for their third Intercontinental Cup trophy and will play against Sao Paulo in Sunday’s final after a rare 70-point win in the first semifinal against US Monastir.
That’s not a typo, the final score was 112-42 with Tim Abromaitis scoring 20 points on a balanced team effort. The hosts shot 62% from the field, including 20/35 threes, while the losing side just 29% (15/51).
Jerome Randle with 14 points and Michael Roll with 11 didn’t have any help, as the Tunisian champions of BAL couldn’t compete with the defending Basketball Champions League winners.
In the first semifinal, Sao Paulo defeated the Rio Grande Valley Vipers 91-70. The winners of the BCL Americas were too much for the NBA G League title holders, leading by 16 at halftime and by 30 (68-38) in the third quarter.
Malcolm Miller with 24 points was the top scorer of the game, while Tulio Da Silva finished with 19 points, 15 rebounds, and three steals.
