The Tasmania Jackjumpers opened their 2024 FIBA Intercontinental Cup games with an 81 – 59 win over Quimsa. Quite the impressive debut for an Australian team in the history of the tournament.
Jordon Crawford led a balanced offensive output by the Jackjumpers with 15 points and five rebounds. Will Magnay delivered 12 points and nine rebounds, Milton Doyle scored 12 and Clint Steindl added 10 points.
Already up 56 – 46 at the end of the third quarter, the Jackjumpers were particularly devastating in the fourth period with a 14-1 run over the first five minutes to turn the game into a blowout.
Juan Brussino (11 points) and Patricio Tabarez (11 points) scored in double figures for Quimsa.
The Jackjumpers are now tied at 1-1 with NBA G-League United in Group B. Quimsa dropped to 0-2.
