Center Jerome Meyinsse is one of the people in charge of guarding the backboards of Argentina’s San Lorenzo at the FIBA Intercontinental Cup, which will take place from February 15 to 17 at Rio de Janeiro’s Carioca Arena.

The American has great memories of this tournament that still occupies a special place in his heart. In 2014, he raised the championship’s trophy with Brazil’s Flamengo, and his deepest desire is to repeat that experience, but this time, with the squad from Buenos Aires.

“The FIBA Intercontinental Cup 2014 has been, I believe, the most important victory and championship of my career. I didn’t expect it, but we won. It was a great celebration at home, our fans went on to the court —it was incredible. Hopefully the same happens in 2019”, said the player to EmboCASLA.

San Lorenzo, current DIRECTV Liga de las Américas champions, will play on Friday in the first FIBA Intercontinental Cup Semi-Finals against Greece’s AEK, European Champions League monarchs. The game is set to begin at 6:00 PM, local game time. The winner will play in the Final on Sunday, against the winner of the other Semi-Final, which will be either Flamengo or the NBA G-League champions, Austin Spurs.
