Shortly after Anadolu Efes’ win against Fenerbahce BEKO in Euroleague, Filip Petrusev has decided to join the Serbian national team in the World Cup qualifiers.
As the Serbian Basketball Federation announced, will play against Belgium on November 28th. Vasilije Micic and Nemanja Nedovic, who were also an option, will skip this time around.
Petrusev joined the team’s practice a couple of hours after landing in Serbia and will have another one once the squad reaches Belgium. Serbia won its first game in the qualifiers, against Latvia, but just barely with 101-100 on the scoreboard. Belgium defeated Slovakia in their first game.
Petrusev spent ten minutes for Efes against Fener, scoring two points on two shots from the field and adding two rebounds. He’s been averaging 7.2 points and 2.5 rebounds over 12 Euroleague games.
