The Mop Guy Story presented by FIBA dives into arguably the best viral story of the first international window in the 2021-22 calendar.
Antonio Van-Dunem, 43, has been slipping around the court for the last 22 years, initially mainly during Angola home fixtures and from there all around Africa and to the 2023 FIBA World Cup African Qualifiers. Combining cleaning duties with unique acrobatic moves and much more have elevated him to legendary status as Limpa Chao Toy or the Mop Guy.
“The show I put on is to cheer up the fans. Most people think that I’m here just to mop but I’m not,” he said in a video posted on the official FIBA YouTube channel Sunday, “My true adversary is the court floor.”

His passion and dedication in mopping the floor to protect the players have expanded all over Africa over the years. He has worked several games in multiple countries staying true to his goals, including entertaining the people in attendance.
“I have big dreams and if only I got a chance to go to the big stage say to the FIBA Basketball World Cup or an NBA game, I would be the happiest person in the world,” he told FIBA.BASKETBALL about two years ago, “I really love mopping the floor during basketball games. On top of protecting players from getting injured, I also love the atmosphere and how the crowd is always receptive to me.”
