Coach Sotiris Manolopoulos decided on the preliminary list of players for the Greek national team that will face Turkey twice in the February window of the 2023 World Cup qualifiers.
The following names made the cut:
Dimitrios Agravanis (Promitheas), Nikos Gkikas (Promitheas), Costis Gontikas (Ionikos), Vassilis Kavvadas (Panathinaikos), Dimitris Kaklamanakis (Lavrio), Nick Calathes (Barcelona), Panagiotis Kalaitzakis (Lietkabelis), Georgios Kamperidis (PAOK), Leonidas Kaselakis (Panathinaikos), Dimitrios Katsivelis (Peristeri), Ioannis Kouzeloglou (AEK), Giannoulis Larentzakis (Olympiacos), Michalis Lountzis (Olympiacos), Vassilis Mouratos (Lavrio), Lefteris Bochoridis (Panathinaikos), Dimitris Moraitis (Peristeri), Georgios Papagiannis (Panathinaikos), Kostas Papanikolaou (Olympiacos), Georgios Printezis (Olympiacos), Nikos Rogkavopoulos (Promitheas), Kostas Sloukas (Olympiacos), Georgios Tsalmpouris (Apollon Patras), Dimitris Flionis (AEK), Nikos Chougkaz (Panathinaikos).
Panathinaikos has already allowed Papagiannis, Kavvadas, Kaselakis, Bochoridis and Chougkaz to play for Greece in the game against Turkey despite the fact that the Greens will face Crvena Zvezda on the same day, February 25, in EuroLeague.
Calathes’ Barcelona also plays the same day while Olympiacos players have a game a day earlier, on February 24, against Olimpia Milano.
