With no healthy centers left in the Greek national team, Dimitris Kaklamakis was urgently called for the upcoming game against Belgium.
The 28-years old player who was part of the team in the previous FIBA windows wasn’t included in the preliminary list for this summer, but his presence is more than needed.
With Kostas Antetokounmpo injured in Thursday’s game against Serbia and George Papagiannis still not ready to compete and working his way back to the team for the Eurobasket, Kaklamanakis may even see extended minutes against Belgium.
Another center, Kostas Gontikas, who was called to the team earlier in the summer suffered a hand fracture, and he wasn’t available.
Greece will not have available for the Saturday game against Belgium neither Kostas Sloukas and Ioannis Papapetrou, hoping that they will also be ready for the Eurobasket.
