The Serbian national team will meet Great Britain in Newcastle on November 11 as part of the World Cup qualifiers, and three days later the Turkish national team will meet in Belgrade. Coach Svetislav Pešić spoke about the players he will have available for the upcoming matches and pointed out that there is a possibility that EuroLeague players will join the national team.
Players like Vasilije Micic and Marko Guduric would only be able to play against Turkey in the second game.
“The Spanish clubs did not allow their players to come, there is still hope, but most likely Baskonia will not let Vanja Marinković, and the same goes for Barcelona and Nikola Kalinić. Efes should let Vasilije Micic play for us, also Guduric from Fenerbahce, and Lucic and Jaramaz from Bayern“, Pesic said.
An agreement was reached with Nemanja Nedovic from Crvena Zvezda to take a break from his duties in the national team.
“Nedovic will skip this window, we talked, and he is still not fit. These seven days will mean that he will train and recover“.
From Crvena Zvezda, Luka Mitrović, Ognjen Dobrić, and Nikola Topić are available to the coach.
“Dobrić was with us, but he was injured last night, we will see when he will be there with us. Maybe as early as Wednesday…“, pointed out Svetislav Pešić.
From the Partizan side, Uros Trifunovic and Danilo Andjusic are on the team and will play both games.
