Behind a 101-83 win against Great Britain in Belgrade, Serbia punched the final ticket for the 2023 FIBA World Cup, and know all participants are known.

Serbia is the final and 12th team qualified from Europe, along with Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, Slovenia, and the defending champions Spain.

After winning the silver medal at the 2019 World Cup in China, Argentina failed to qualify for the tournament after nine consecutive appearances.

Seven other teams from the Americas will fight for the world throne including Brazil, Canada, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico, the United States, and Venezuela.

With two hosts Japan and the Philippines, six other selections will represent Asia and Oceania at the FIBA World Cup: Australia, China, Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, and New Zealand.

The list of African teams who made it is filled with surprises, as Cape Verde and South Sudan qualified for the first time, along with Angola, Ivory Coast, and Egypt.

The draw will take place on 29 April 2023 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Philippines. Host Philippines and the highest-ranked teams will be allocated to Pot 1.

Furthermore, the three host countries are given the privilege to select a team each to host in the group stage. The United States was selected to play in the Philippines, Slovenia in Japan, and Canada in Indonesia.

The 32 qualified teams will be sorted into eight groups of four (A–H), each team in a group will play each other once. The top two teams from each group will then advance to the second group stage. In the second group stage, there will be four groups (I–L) of four, again playing each other once. The top two teams from groups I to L will qualify for the final knockout phase.
