Serbia punched the last ticket for the World Cup after winning over Great Britain in Belgrade. Now the main topic in Serbia is Nikola Jokic and Bogdan Bogdanovic. The two NBA players and their availability this summer for the Worl Cup. The coach of Serbia, Svetislav Pesic touched on that subject.
Jokic played for Serbia last year in the Eurobasket, while Bogdanovic missed out due to an injury.
“We know from this situation that according to the agreement between the NBA and FIBA, players can start preparing 28 days before the start of the World Cup. Nothing is known yet, maybe Jokic will win the NBA. How long will they play, how will everything unfold, and how far will Bogdanovic reach with Atlanta… The players from EuroLeague have only just started playing at full strength, every game is a playoff“, said Pesic.
He continued talking about his summer plans.
“We will try to begin in June, when everything is finished, to invite the candidates who have finished playing, let’s say, to be there for a few days, see each other, do some joint training, and give assignments before the annual vacations. Bad preparation – bad results, that’s the rule. Let’s get the best out and prepare well. That’s a priority.”
