Indiana Pacers big man Daniel Theis confirmed to Eurohoops that he will play for the German national team this summer in the upcoming FIBA World Cup.
“Yeah, of course. I’m excited, I’ve got a long summer right now, so I can prepare my body for a great journey with Team Germany again“, said Theis.
The former three-time champion in Germany with Brose Bamberg is in the NBA since 2017. He played for Boston, Chicago, Houston, and most recently Indiana.
Theis was a member of the junior national teams of Germany. With Germany’s junior national teams, he played at the 2011 FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship and the 2012 FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship.
On July 27, 2014, Theis made his first appearance with the senior German national basketball team in a game against Finland.
He has been a part of the national team in EuroBasket in 2015, 2017, and 2022. He also played in the basketball World Cup in 2019.
