Team USA’s roster for the upcoming 2023 FIBA World Cup is now complete, with Josh Hart securing the final spot, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The official confirmation is still pending, but it is expected that the New York Knicks guard will be the last addition to Steve Kerr’s roster.
Hart, who will also be returning to the Knicks for the next season, joins his teammate Jalen Brunson on the USA roster. The full roster includes:
Guards: Jalen Brunson, Anthony Edwards, Tyrese Haliburton, Austin Reaves
Forwards: Paolo Banchero, Mikal Bridges, Josh Hart, Brandon Ingram, Jaren Jackson Jr, Cam Johnson
Centers: Walker Kessler, Bobby Portis
At first glance, it may not be the strongest possible USA team, but it is filled with talented young stars who are motivated to prove themselves in the national team colors.
In the previous World Cup, Team USA finished in a historically low seventh place, but they bounced back and won the gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. For the upcoming FIBA tournament, the United States has been placed in Group C (Pasay, Philippines), alongside Jordan, Greece, and New Zealand.
