After beating both Tunisia and Montenegro, France won the third friendly game of its preparation path toward the 2023 FIBA World Cup by beating Venezuela 86-67.
After scoring the first three-pointer of his career, Rudy Gobert led once again Vincent Collet’s national team with a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds. Guerschon Yabusele had 14 points and 4 rebounds, while Evan Fournier added 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists.
On the opposing side, the newest Estudiantes player and leader of the Vinotinto Michael Carrera ended the encounter with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Jhornan Zamora, instead, scored 16 points.
In the next few days, France will play other friendly games preparing for the World Cup against Lithuania, Japan, and Australia. Venezuela, instead, is set to participate in friendly games against Australia, South Sudan, and Brazil.
At the 2023 FIBA World Cup, Venezuela will play in Jakarta’s Group F with Slovenia, Cape Verde, and Georgia. France, instead, will play the first phase in Okinawa to face Canada, Latvia, and Lebanon in Group H.
