Germany proved relatively quick finalizing the 12 players on the roster, en route to the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

Head coach Gordon Herbert made his decisions regarding the World Cup squad Thursday, as shared by the German Basketball Federation via a press release attached to a video on the official YouTube portal.

Isaac Bonga, Niels Giffey, Justus Hollatz, David Kramer, Maodo Lo, Andreas Obst, Dennis Schroder, Daniel Theis, Johannes Thiemann, Johannes Voigtmann, Franz Wagner, and Moritz Wagner made the cut, announced the governing body of basketball in Germany.

Besides Maxi Kleber being ruled out in the fallout of the public confrontation with Schroder, Oscar Da Silva and Leon Kratzer were the final cuts.

Germany is preparing to compete in Group E of the preliminary round of the approaching World Cup. Upon landing in Okinawa City, Japan, Australia, and Finland will be the opponents between 25 and 29 August in Okinawa Arena. The top half of the four-team group will be placed in Group K and seek a berth in the Quarterfinals, but the bottom two countries will instead be placed in Group O to compete for a spot between 17th and 32nd on the final rankings.
