Team USA was dominant against a Slovenian national team that was without superstar Luka Doncic and took a 92 – 62 blowout victory in a preparation game that was held in Malaga, Spain.
In a quite balanced effort by USA, Anthony Edwards led all game scorers with 15 points while Jalen Brunson dropped 11 points and dished out a game-high eight assists. Austin Reaves delivered five rebounds and four assists and Tyrese Haliburton posted 10 points plus six dimes.
Only Gregor Glas (14 points) scored in double figures from Slovenia. Doncic’s absence (for precautionary reasons) was more than visible on the floor since the team was unable to match USA’s talent without its anchor on offense.

USA will next face Spain Sunday (13/8) in what is expected to be the tougher test so far during the 2023 World Cup training camp for Steve Kerr and his players. The 2021 Olympic champions are 2-0 in their preparation games following the win over Slovenia and a rout over Puerto Rico.
