In a highly entertaining preparatory game for the upcoming 2023 FIBA World Cup, Brazil defeated Australia 90-86, led by Bruno Caboclo with a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds.
Vitor Benite, following the new Reyer Venice center, contributed 17 points, Lucas Dias added 14, while Leonardo Meindl finished the match with 10 points. Yago dos Santos was on the verge of a double-double with nine points and eight rebounds.
For Australia, Oklahoma City Thunder‘s guard Josh Giddey recorded a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Patty Mills added 11 points. Nicholas Kay and Duop Reath each scored 10 points.

The length and shooting of Brazil posed issues for Australia. Led by Benite’s 5/7 from beyond the arc, the South American side shot 16/35 from deep.
The Boomers are preparing to face Germany, Finland, and Japan in World Cup Group E in Okinawa, while Brazil will compete against Iran, Spain, and Ivory Coast in Group G, to be played in Jakarta.
