Anthony Edwards is ready to shine at the upcoming 2023 FIBA World Cup, as he dominated in a big comeback for Team USA during a 99-91 win over Germany in their last preparatory game held in Abu Dhabi, scoring 34 points.

The starters failed to follow him, with Tyrese Haliburton and Austin Reaves adding 16 points each off the bench. Steve Kerr’s squad erased a 16-point deficit from the third period and turned the score around in the final minutes to secure the victory.

“Without a doubt, he is the man”, coach Steve Kerr said after the game for Edwards who has emerged as the leader of this young version of US national team.

Germany put on another strong team performance but couldn’t keep up with the NBA stars in the final quarter. Four players recorded double-doubles: Dennis Schröder had 16 points and 10 assists, Franz Wagner added 17 points and 10 rebounds, Daniel Theis had 12 points and 13 rebounds, and Johannes Voigtmann contributed 11 points and 10 boards.

Andreas Obst completed the starting five with 12 points, while Mo Wagner added 14 points off the bench.
