MANILA, Philippines – The Angolan national team found an impressive 80-70 win against the Philippines, and Bruno Fernando powered his team up with 14 points and 7 rebounds.
Stopping by in the mixed zone, the new Atlanta Hawks center spoke to Eurohoops to comment on Angola’s success. “It was a great one, we came out here with the energy to compete. We knew it was going to be a tough one, a lot of credit and respect to the Philippines, very well coached. They took advantage of the home crowd, it was loud in here. We were able to fight against them, a great win for us. We need it, we have more to be done”, he first said.
“Later on, he took time to express his gratitude to all the people who flew to the Philippines to support the red-and-black side. “It was awesome, we value the people that came out to watch and support us. It was a great game, we are going to continue trying to work hard and see if we can get another one”, he commented.
Finally, he went on without discussing what would be his next matchup, against Karl-Anthony Towns. “We are going to look at the film from their game, we are gonna talk about Angola-Philippines first and then see what comes out next. Stick with us, we are gonna continue working hard to make you guys proud”, the 25-year-old dominant center said.
