All good things must come to an end and that was the case with Latvia. The amazing Canada once more prevailed, despite trailing by 10 after the first period.
To be exact, Canada completed a perfect first group phase in the FIBA World Cup 2023 by getting a 101-75 win over the team that “killed” France.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander put on a show with 27 points, six rebounds, and six assists, RJ Barrett added 22, Kelly Olynyk had 15 points, and Nickeil Alexander-Walker scored 14 too.
In a game that started with Latvia getting a 23-13 early lead, Canada dominated the rest of the way with the score in the next 30 minutes being 88-52.
Andrejs Grazulis with 16 points and Rodions Kurucs with 14 points tried their best, but Latvia had just 10/36 threes, and that proved to be their demise.

It was one more sign that Canada is for real and they will be a fearsome opponent for any opponent in the 2023 FIBA World Cup.
Meanwhile, Latvia also advanced to the second round with a 2-1 record and will have a harder task in order to qualify for the quarterfinals.
