MANILA, Philippines – With an outstanding game, Serbia managed to beat Lithuania 87-68 to advance to the 2023 FIBA World Cup Semifinals.
After being a precious factor off the bench against the United States, Mindaugas Kuzminskas scored 6 points with only 2/7 from the field and 0/5 from three-point range against the Balkan side.
Stopping by in the mixed zone, the 33-year-old Lithuanian forward commented on Jonas Valanciunas, who despite his age and despite being an NBA player, once again represented the Baltic team this summer. “He’s our captain, he does an unbelievable job, knowing he hasn’t skipped one single tournament since 2011”, he said.
Talking about what’s next for them, he said they will continue to put their all on the court for the Lithuanian fans who traveled to the Philippines. “We have a game after tomorrow. It’s not possible to win medals at this point, but just for those people who came to support us, we must fight”, Kuzminskas added.
