Langford may still get the Turkish passport

Despite the reports about Keith Langford not getting the Turkish passport, this possibility still is very much alive, as the top Euroleague scorer is examining his options for next season which also include interest from the NBA.

According to sources close to the situation, the offer of the Turkish basketball federation still is on the table and it’s up to Langford to decide if he will accept it in order to play in the upcoming FIBA World Cup with the Turkish national team. Despite the fact that many Turkish clubs seem willing to appeal the decision of the federation, specially if playing in the national team means also getting naturalized for the TBL, Langford can, at least try to, get the Turkish passport.

That’s why he is also expected to take his time on deciding where he will continue his career next season. After winning the Alphonso Ford trophy in Euroleague, there’s also interest for him in the States. Of course, he will get a more lucrative contract by staying in Europe, but still the NBA is always alluring.

UPDATE: One day after our post, it was announced that Langford finally didn’t accept the option of getting a Turkish passport.
