One more center who is currently playing in the NBA will be absent from the FIBA World Cup, despite being called by his national team. Alexis Ajinca announced that he will not help the French national team, because his wife is pregnant.
As he explained via a press release: “After my discussion with coach Vincent Collet and thinking for long, I have decided not to participate in the FIBA World Cup. It was not an easy decision, but my wife is pregnant and the child is expected to be born during the World Cup. Despite the fact that I wanted to play, my priority is my family and I have to be present with my wife in this great moment. I can’t wait to play next summer with the national team. Thanks for the support”.
