In the first preparation game before the FIBA World Cup, Eurobasket runner up Lithuania beat Latvia (93-74). Arturas Gudaitis with 15 points was the top scorer of the winners who played without the NBA centers duo of Valanciunas and Motiejunas. Τhe team is also missing this year the two veterans Linas Kleiza and Robertas Javtokas who need rest.
In Turkey, the federation announced that Enes Kanter is still – in theory – a candidate to make the team. However the player’s side doesn’t provide with enough details the Turkish national team medical staff about the condition of his knee. That’s an indication for him not wanting to play with the team for the third year in a row.
